This Sri Lanka Hotel Promises A Hot Tub Poring Over The Sea In A Divers’ Paradise

Not many hotels have this view; we checked!

A rather arid road that leads to Cardamon Hotel, Nilaveli, Sri Lanka, does not prepare one for the charm that this beachside chic hotel is. We were pleasantly surprised by the glare off a stunning aqua-blue ocean right as we entered. You might not be a beach baby but the lure is strong here; strong enough to turn you into one.

Check-in at Cardamon is smooth, and the rooms are way more than what affordable luxury dreams are made of.

The beds are comfy, linen fresh as spring flowers, washrooms squeaky clean. They do have a range of rooms, including duplexes, on different floors. A number of rooms here are accessible to specially-abled as well.

We booked a Double Room with Bath, and fell in love with the hot tub set by the window, right across the resplendent sea!

The beach is accessible and swim-ready if you want to soak in the warm water before jumping in the hotel pool right by its side. 

The drinks here are heavenly and food just right; Cardamon serves French food that we did not sample and the chef might need to work on their menu. Nevertheless, the hotel restaurant operates very fine during the peak tourist season, which we skip when making travel plans.

The breakfast at Cardamon is good; we suggest that you step out to the adjoining Moon Isle cafe for other meals or motorbike/drive to Trincomalee that has some great restaurants.
